What cookies are

A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to store, so that it can recognise your browser on a later visit. Related technologies — local storage, pixels, device fingerprinting — do a similar job by different means, and this policy covers those too.

What this site uses

At present:

• We set no cookies of our own.
• We run no analytics, no advertising tags and no social media tracking pixels.
• We do not use local storage to identify you.

Because of this, no cookie consent banner is shown. If that ever changes, this page and the site will change with it.

Third-party requests

Two things on this site cause your browser to contact another company. Neither sets a cookie, but both mean that company receives your IP address and basic request information:

Google Fonts

The Merriweather typeface is loaded from fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com. Google states that it does not set cookies for font requests, but the request itself is logged. Self-hosting the font files removes this entirely, and is worth doing.

WhatsApp

The WhatsApp button is a plain link. Nothing loads from WhatsApp until you click it, at which point you leave this site and WhatsApp's own terms and privacy policy apply.

Managing cookies

You can block or delete cookies in your browser's settings. Because this site does not rely on them, blocking them will not stop anything here from working.

Changes to this policy

If we add anything that sets a cookie, we will update this page before it goes live.
